14th November

Here is the second week! Today we started a new course with some French guys and we had a team building session with some games, it was fun!. Then we started a class with an Australian teacher who made us write about the natural world and discuss some issues in small groups
In the afternoon we visited the Royal Academy of Arts in Piccadilly, exploring the Abstract expressionism developed in the 1940's, an interesting period in American art, with artists like Pollock, Rothko and de Kooning, Still, Newman and Gorky. They reflect the darkness of their times and  the viewer becomes part of the art. I liked Pollock' s mural a lot. His drip technique consisted in poring industrial paint directly on new canvas laid on the floor.
Bye for now

  1. Hi Roberta,
from what I see written it doesn't seem that you're getting bored!
The school activities are interesting as well as the discovery of the many places in London: this time it's my turn to envy you 😃
    A big hug,
    Stefano.

  2. Certainly I'm not getting bored, on the contrary I don't think it will be easy to go back to the rhythms in Mestre, a much less interesting life for sure!!!!
    Thanks STEFANO, bye!
